“God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:8 (NRSV)
At St. Andrew’s Guelph, we believe that we have a mission to the world, just outside our door and throughout the globe. We trust that we are invited to join God to work together in sharing the joy, love, compassion, healing and hope that comes from living out the Good News of Jesus Christ. The word that stands out in how we DO MISSION St. Andrew’s is PARTNERSHIP.
We try to do this in our daily living and together as a congregation through our Mission and Outreach Coordinating Committee.
The Mission and Outreach Coordinating Committee’s mandate is to respond to the cries of God’s people by engaging our congregation in coming alongside those who are actively addressing God’s call to compassion and service. This mandate is accomplished through educating our members/adherents about local, national and international outreach and mission, challenging them to respond to opportunities to participate in outreach and mission activities through financial support and/or the giving of their time and talent. The Committee will actively pursue partnership in new mission projects and continue to provide support for current mission projects according to the strategic directions/foci of the Session. Wherever possible, the Committee will work in concert with other committees and groups in an effort to maximize our call to compassion and service.
St. Andrews supports numerous missions and outreach projects within the Guelph community, and nationally and internationally, under the umbrella of the Mission and Outreach Coordinating Committee (MOCC), and in partnership with the WMS, Presbyterians Sharing and Presbyterian World Service and Development.
Some of our partnerships include Bracelet of Hope, Chalmers Community Services Centre, CORE (Guelph Churches OutREach program), Ecumenical Campus Ministry at the University of Guelph, 40 Days of Discipleship, Evangel Hall mission, Guelph Youth for Christ, Royal City Christian Life Centre, and the Welcome In Drop In Centre.
