My name is Rev. John Borthwick and I have served as the minister at St. Andrew’s since 2003.
I am most interested in engaging with the community where we find ourselves. It is my privilege as the minister of St. Andrew’s Guelph to come alongside, encourage and celebrate the actions of local community leaders doing good and impacting the lives of vulnerable people. It sounds cliché but I feel called to the places where I believe Jesus would be found today. I’m honoured to serve a community of followers of Jesus who seek out those same places in their corners of the world. At St. Andrew’s Guelph, we are more than just a worshipping community on Sunday morning at the corner of Norfolk and Suffolk Streets.
If you can’t find me at St. Andrew’s or somewhere in Downtown Guelph, I may be hanging out with the members of Guelph Police Service where I serve as their volunteer Chaplain.
I’m also a husband and a Dad to a son (17) and a daughter (12). I have a passion for football, craft beer and Shark Week.
