Good Friday (ZOOM Meeting Information)

GOOD FRIDAY – we are hosting a LIVE Zoom Worship Experience at 10:30AM. Rev. John will be continuing his sermon series on the Theology of Rice and Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Superstar. We have posted an outline of the service along with songs that you are encouraged to listen to before and after the service from your own device to improve your experience. Just a reminder on how to navigate this platform. You can access these gatherings in a variety of ways. You can simply click on the link below and your computer will take you to the meeting (often by asking if you want to launch Zoom Meetings – click open). You will need to enter a password – 182812 will be the permanent password for all St. Andrew’s Guelph worship services. Alternatively, you could use the Zoom App on another device or phone. On these platforms you may need to enter the nine digit Zoom meeting code followed by the password. And finally, you can also call in using your regular phone (long distance rates may apply) and one of the numbers below and following the prompts.
If you are unable to access one of our worship services LIVE, please don’t worry – you can listen to recordings of our services on our website that will be posted by Tuesday at the latest.

Alleluia Poster for Easter Sunday

Here’s another colouring project for you – colouring can be very calming – but this one might be a bit more of a challenge for you. It comes in four parts that you will tape together to create a huge Alleluia Poster to brighten your Easter celebrations. Please share them with us in the LIVE Zoom Easter worship and afterwards, I’d encourage you to post them on your front doors or windows so that you can share the joy of Easter with your community.

Palm Sunday on Zoom – April 5, 2020

We celebrated Palm Sunday with our own Palm Parade from the privacy of our homes. Rev. John began his Holy Week sermon series reprising a series he did in 2015 on the Theology of Rice and Lloyd Webber featuring the musical Jesus Christ Superstar. Today, he focused on their take on Palm Sunday and the song, Hosanna. You can watch the clip from the 1973 film version (Rev. John’s favourite) below and read the lyrics from the song too. The service follows… and we concluded today by listening to the King’s College Cambridge choir singing Ride On, Ride On in Majesty. Hosanna!

Thursday Morning Bible Study IN THE EVENING!

As we continue our experiments during this truly uncharted territory, I thought I’d try an evening experience for our traditional Thursday Morning Bible Study. [Truth is that I also have another commitment this Thursday morning that actually survived all the cancellations of this current reality]. So, instead of cancelling outright, I thought I’d try out an evening experience.
