So nice to meet you!

Hey, we know visiting a church for the first time can be a bit nerve wracking. We’ve compiled some of the most commonly asked questions to help you feel prepared, comfortable and ready when you visit us in person for the first time.

When should I arrive?
Our worship service begins at 10:30 AM in the sanctuary. We would encourage you to arrive early to find parking. If you have children, you are encouraged to come early and meet our Church School Lead, Julia, and get acquainted with our Church School and Nursery.

What should I wear?
The short answer is, whatever you feel comfortable in. The atmosphere at St. Andrew’s is casual so some people come in jeans or shorts while others prefer to dress up a bit. You won't be out of place with either option.

Where should I park?
There is lots of street parking around the neighborhoods surrounding the Church. Most people find a spot on a side street or in an empty parking lot nearby.

Do I need to bring money?
Worship always includes an invitation to be generous with our gifts (time, talents, and treasures). Don’t feel obligated to make a donation when you attend. If you appreciate what you’ve experienced, you are welcome to make a financial contribution by leaving something in the offering plate at the entrances or online here.

What should I expect in the service?
The service runs from about 10:30 - 11:45 AM (sometimes shorter and other times a little longer). There will be words of welcome and announcements, times for prayer and readings from scripture, songs to sing and music to inspire, a thoughtful and inspiring message from our minister, and some words of blessing to leave by. We even have time for refreshments following worship.

Who can come?
Do you have questions about God, faith, Jesus, life, and the meaning of it all? Then you will find a space to encounter those kinds of questions with others on a similar journey. Maybe you are passionate about changing the world around you… and are looking for some collaborators who desire the same. You will find some kindred spirits here. Or you believe that we are better together and are seeking a community that tries to practice kindness, love, and joy. Come hang out with us and join us as we champion love and liberation in Guelph and beyond!

What about my kids?
We offer a Sunday Church School program for kids in Grades 1 - 6. We also have a nursery but it is not staffed at the moment. You are welcome to stay with your littlest ones there. We also don’t mind if “children make noise in Church” - many of us make noises and that’s OK. You are welcome to stay in the sanctuary with your little one if that would be more comfortable and don’t worry if they fuss or cry. We consider it a gift!

Is the building accessible?
Yes, the sanctuary and church hall is accessible from the Norfolk Street entrance (the sidewalk off of Norfolk Street entering by the glass door). We also have an accessible washroom on this level. The sanctuary has two areas in the middle for wheelchairs.
