Rev. John launches an OCCASIONAL Podcast – “Rev. John Asks A Question or Two”

Last week, Rev. John launched an OCCASIONAL podcast called “Rev. John Asks A Question or Two” (Yes, the title of the podcast is inspired by Disney’s Forky Asks A Question). He hopes to post a new episode at least once a month but sometimes it will be more frequent. These will be short (five minutes or so) and focused on asking meaningful and transformative questions for personal reflection. The first episode focused on two questions that come from a legendary story of Rabbi Akiva (circa 2nd Century AD): Who Are You? and What Are You Doing Here?

Feel free to share with friends and family. Be sure to subscribe to our YouTube Channel so that you can receive notifications when a new episode is posted.

Here’s the first episode:

St. Andrew’s Territorial Acknowledgement

As we gather, we acknowledge that Indigenous people were here long before us who cared for this land and called it home.  This territory has a rich history and was, and is to this day, considered sacred by many First Nations, Metis and Inuit peoples.  We have a responsibility to care for this land as their ancestors did and to continue to strengthen our relationships with our Indigenous neighbours.

After worship this morning, I’d invite you to reflect on these songs. The first is another selection from The Kingdom Choir – when they sang for the Royal Wedding of Harry and Megan. The second selection is a hymn from our Book of Praise written by Andrew Donaldson – one of the co-editors of the 1998 Book of Praise.

“Stand By Me” – The Kingdom Choir
